ABSTRACT
This work discusses perceived influence of sociocultural factors on students’ interest in agricultural science in secondary schools

.A hundred and twenty questionnaires were distributed among students and teachers from selected secondary schools in otukpo local government area of benue state. Interviews and surveys were also conducted.

Primary and secondary data will be used in the analysis. Tables and percentages will also be used as the instrument of analysis

It will be observed therefore that poor orientation of agriculture as a field for a noble career, poor national orientation among secondary schools on the importance of agricultural science have a strong and significant impact on students’ perception, and their interests in agricultural science.
